Improving Management Effectiveness of the Protected Area Network

Stories are a source of information, inspiration and motivation. During the GEF-5 PA Project implementation certain themes emerged, highlighting the work done by the protected area management agencies. These are captured in the stories below. The stories revolve around collaboration – highlighting multiple stakeholder partnerships, innovation – looking at new methods and approaches, conservation – featuring interventions to protect the endangered and vulnerable biodiversity and work towards a future where humans live in harmony with nature, social impact – showcasing community based conservation and development work and gender – highlighting the role of women in a traditionally male sector and sharing approaches on integrating a more gender responsive approach in biodiversity work.
